The first concert features favourite operatic scenes and arias, and includes the full concert suite from the company’s famed rendition of Porgy and Bess. The second concert has an African theme, with excerpts from the Mandela Trilogy – a musical tribute to the life of Nelson Mandela – presented alongside the popular African Sanctus.
As a company renowned for its commitment to meaningful education and community outreach initiatives, Cape Town Opera will also work with musicians from the Australian National Academy of Music to present an additional special daytime concert.
