Armed with multiple Grammys, MTV awards, more than 25 million units sold, and a thriving acting career, Macy Gray has forged a career creating music that leaps genre barriers from experimental soul to alternative rock, from retro-disco to hip-hop.
With the 2012 album release of her lauded new album Covered, a collection of handpicked songs reinterpreted in her own inimitable fashion, Melbourne audiences will be treated to a concert including some of the album tracks plus many of her own timeless tunes this September. And where better to showcase this next personal milestone in her career? Arts Centre Melbourne has invited Macy to get intimate with the brand new state of the art acoustics of The New Hamer Hall as part of her national tour.
Previously collaborating with artists including John Frusciante, Erykah Badu, Gang Starr, Mos Def, and Pharoah Monche. Macy has forged an uncompromising musical path beholden to her own vision and garnering accolades at every juncture.
