Arts Centre Melbourne presents Windmill Theatre’s

School Dance
Exclusive for schools

Nerds rule in this new comedy by Windmill.

This is a story of three teenage boys.
They're going to the school dance.
They're on a mission. But they are losers.

School Dance is a highly entertaining story of three awkward kids. The invisible teens. Fuelled by a diet of raging hormones and mee goreng noodles, they exist in a misfit realm, navigating complex waters with little success.

A highly personal work that, just like its central protagonists, is funny, sad, scary, weird, really stupid, endearing and repulsive. School Dance is theatre that teenagers will relate to. Set in that special kind of hell that is the school dance, this powerful and personal work explores themes of fitting in with peers and the complex experience of family.

Winner of 2012 Ruby Award for Best Work, School Dance is a game-changing contemporary work of theatre.

Written by Matthew Whittet.
Directed by Rosemary Myers.

"Windmill has all bases covered...Open-hearted and quick on its feet, School Dance is a Festival hit." The Australian
