3MBS Beethoven Marathon

Central to Ludwig van Beethoven's magnificent body of work are his 32 piano sonatas. Now, for the first time in Australia, experience all 32 of these sonatas over a 14-hour piano marathon extravaganza.

Featuring 28 of Australia’s finest pianists, playing one sonata after another, this event will be a highlight on Melbourne’s 2013 musical calendar.

From his earliest attempt in 1795 to his final effort in 1822, Beethoven's piano sonatas stand with the Sistine Chapel and Shakespeare's plays as one of the towering forces of human achievement.

The 3MBS Beethoven Marathon is an opportunity to hear one of the most important and beloved cycles of Western music in a single day.

With a ticket to one of the seven single sessions, Melbourne audiences will be treated to an extraordinary Beethoven feast.
