St Paul’s Lutheran Church Choir and Melbourne Samoan Choir take to the stage for an uplifting afternoon event in The Famous Spiegeltent.
St Pauls Lutheran Church Choir are a dymanic group who have doubled their regional Victorian church’s congregation, supported by the new African community emerging in Shepparton and surrounds. The mostly Burundian and Congolese members of the choir sing sweet gospel harmonies and grooves.
Melbourne Samoan Choir
Melbourne's newest choir has been formed to help preserve Samoan music and also to give Melbournians the opportunity to immerse themselves in the Samoan style of singing.
The aim of the choir is to:
- show Melbourne what Samoan music is all about
- encourage fellow Samoans to showcase their natural singing abilities
- Preserve music that has been cherished and passed-down by our ancestors
- show our support to the many Samoan composers out there, in the performance of their works.
The choir will be led by Choral Director RITA GALE. Rita has directed many samoan choirs over the past 15 years in both Auckland and Melbourne: East Tamaki EFKS choir (NZ), Manukau's Pacific Island Choir 1999 (NZ), BBC ET Youth Choir (NZ), Glenroy EFKS choir (Vic); Melbourne Pacific Island Choir and Northcote EFKS choir (Vic).
