Stand-up can be a solitary pursuit – enter stage left the ‘LOL Squad program’, where teens get the chance to collaborate with professional mentors to write, act, film and edit original comedy sketches.

Arts Centre Melbourne's The Channel has partnered with MICF to present LOL Squad, a series of workshops covering sketch writing, performing, filming and editing.

This program is specifically for Class Clowns alumni in Melbourne, and is aimed at giving young people the space, resources and access to mentors with the aim of helping them further develop comedic performance skills. Class Clowns is the Melbourne International Comedy Festival's development program for teens around the country that sees professional comedians run comedy workshops in schools and performing arts centres to encourage self-esteem and confidence in their drama and comedy writing skills.
