A six-week creative learning program for female, trans and gender non-conforming musicians, focusing on electronic music production using Ableton Live.

In 2015, as a response to the need for greater female participation in electronic music, The Channel launched Operator.

The program specifically supports the enhanced presence of females, trans and gender non-conforming individuals in electronic music production (EMP), with a focus on strengthening networks, creating new connections, and offering a space for open questioning and discussion around EMP.

The workshop series, incorporating beginner-level learning of Ableton Live, electronic music production basics and an introduction to preparing for live performance, is an brilliant opportunity for female/trans/gender non-conforming musicians to work with established producers and mentors, developing their skills in using music production software.

Participant, Operator

This has absolutely been a valuable experience for me as an artist, partially just in terms of me thinking of myself as an artist, and this course has really enabled me to zero in on some skills that previously were not even attainable.
