In association with Arts Centre Melbourne, Playking Foundation offers travel grants to assist Australian artists establish creative connections and pursue performing arts collaborations in Asia.

The grants are designed to support travel costs and living expenses for Australian artists visiting Asia – and occasionally for reciprocal travel to Australia. Since 2013, Playking Foundation and Arts Centre Melbourne have responded to expressions of interest and invited proposals across 7 competitive rounds awarding a total of 29 grants to outstanding artists developing collaborations in 12 countries.

Round 8 Expressions of Interest Now Open

Applications for Playking Travel Grants are by invitation only following an Expression of Interest process. Please download the Guidelines here and submit an Expression of Interest via Smarty Grants here. Applicants invited to submit full proposals must complete their application by:

Round 8 – Closing date: Friday 23 March, 2018

To be able to respond better to a range of proposals grants are offered at different levels: two grants of $5,000 and two grants of $8,000 will be awarded in Round 8.
