Host your very own High Tea Party with this easy how to guide!
Have you ever been to one of our popular High Tea Party events? Each year we invite families to join us for a fun afternoon of delicious treats and live music for kids.
While we may not be able to welcome you in person right now, that doesn’t mean the party is over! Follow these steps to create your own High Tea Party at home. The perfect Sunday afternoon activity to enjoy with the whole family.
This is designed for adults to do together with their children.
1. Get cooking
Every high tea party starts with yummy food and drinks. Prepare your favourite party food and brew a pot of tea (or maybe a glass of bubbles for the grown-ups).
If you are in the mood for cooking, here is a classic scones recipe from the Country Women’s Association that requires only 3 ingredients – perfect for when the supermarket is running low!
2. Craft session
It’s time to decorate and send invitation to your party guests. We’ve created a couple of handy templates to get you started. If you don’t have a printer you can use these as inspiration to create your own.
• Make invitations to give to your guests.

• Make your own bunting to brighten up the room.

Some of these activities involve using scissors, make sure an adult is around to help.
3. The perfect playlist
You can’t have a party without music! We’ve created a playlist to get you grooving featuring our favourite songs for kids by Australian musicians.
4. Get dressed up
Grab out the dress ups box and look fabulous for the occasion. It may be the theatre-lover in us, but we’re ready for any excuse to wear a costume.
5. Tea time
Now that you’ve prepared everything, it’s time to party! Gather your loved ones together to eat, dance and have fun. You can share your party using #ACMWithYou
