Help disadvantaged young people find their voice

Arts Centre Melbourne’s Sisters on the Mic is our music and performance program for aspiring young women creatives delivered with support from professional female artists.

Are you ready to find your authentic voice? Join us at Sisters on the Mic, an inclusive and dynamic space for aspiring female-identifying and non-binary urban music artists aged 14 - 24.

The program is led by Thando, Australia’s new first lady of R&B, with support from Machehi Komba and a host of incredible guest facilitators including Nkechi Anele, Dallas Frasca and P-Unique.

Through Sisters on the Mic you'll be mentored through a range of contemporary vocal styles, build your performance skills, gain confidence and develop a network of like-minded collaborators and supporters.

You’ll gain access to industry standard equipment and facilities to write, record and produce your own tracks and can take advantage of the performance opportunities Arts Centre Melbourne can provide.

Sisters on the Mic takes place in The Channel, with workshops from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM every second Tuesday during the school term. The dates for the session in term 2 are Tuesday April 30, Tuesday May 14, Tuesday May 28, Tuesday June 11 and Tuesday June 25.
