In its pilot year, four Connectors aged 18 - 25 will be selected to take part in a year-long program, coming together, developing skills and gaining the experience needed to engage critically and creatively with the challenges we face in these volatile and divisive times.
The Connectors will begin their journey in October 2019 taking a deep dive into Theatre Network Australia's Converge: National Symposium on Theatre and Young People and Arts Centre Melbourne’s Future Echoes, a new festival of performance created by and with young artists.
In the year to follow, the Connectors will meet monthly, receiving support to reflect on these experiences, access to mentoring and training across areas such as thinking critically, responding creatively, refining process and articulating practice, as well as opportunities to network and learn from peers and industry professionals.
Connectors will receive a small stipend to cover the cost of participation, and will have opportunities to contribute to curating and producing programs of work by and with young artists at Arts Centre Melbourne.
Connect is open to emerging arts leaders aged 18 – 25, who are ready to take the next step in their personal and professional development.
Applicants must be available to attend Future Echoes at Arts Centre Melbourne from October 23 – 26, 2019.
While applications from regional and interstate applicants will be considered, the program will require participants to attend activities and sessions in Melbourne. While Arts Centre Melbourne is not able to cover the cost of travel, we can provide letters of support for those applying for funding assistance.
Applications should be submitted via the event page below.
Please address each of the questions within the form and attach your CV and links to any relevant support material.
If you have access requirements, please get in touch so that we can assist you.

Applications will be based upon the relevance and timeliness of the program to your development and your capacity to engage with the opportunity, alongside Arts Centre Melbourne’s commitment to diversity and inclusion.
