Opera Australia's 2018 Season

Subscriptions on sale now via Opera Australia. Single tickets will be available from 25 October, 2017.

Opera Australia and Arts Centre Melbourne are hosting some of the world’s finest artists this year. Ferruccio Furlanetto brings his celebrated interpretation of Don Quichotte to Melbourne for the first time. Stefan Vinke, the world's greatest Siegfried, returns after his triumph in the Melbourne Ring Cycle to sing Walther in Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg, alongside his Ring Cycle colleagues: James Johnson as Hans Sachs and Warwick Fyfe as Sixtus Beckmesser.

This is a co-production between Opera Australia and the Royal Opera Covent Garden, directed by Kasper Holten, who created the wonderful co-production of King Roger in 2017.

One of the world's finest young singers, Corinne Winters, sings Violetta in La Traviata directly after singing the same role at Covent Garden, and Tosca features the magnificent voices of Latonia Moore, Diego Torre and Marco Vratogna.

Opera Australia is also proud to present outstanding international conductors in Melbourne in 2018. Star of the Melbourne Ring Cycle, Pietari Inkinen, returns to conduct more Wagner, and Guillaume Tourniaire, Andrea Battistoni and Carlo Montanaro offer their extraordinary gifts during the season.
