Arts Centre Melbourne is a place where children can explore the imaginary and discover the wonder of the performing arts.

This summer school holidays and beyond will offer a myriad of accessible experiences spanning theatre, puppetry, circus, mime, visual art and even activism.

Watch award-winning young acrobatic troupe Gravity & Other Myths as they push their physical limits in A Simple Space – a playful, intimate work, which will leave the whole family on the edge of their seats.

Discover what is keeping Emily Brown awake in the charming tale of Emily Brown and the Thing (UK), and immerse yourself in the whimsical La Vie Dans Une Marionette (NZ) for ages 8+.

Kids make their own rules in The Children’s Republic of Melbourne – developing their own set of laws and literally sewing together their new constitution with their own two hands. In I See You Like This, children can become the creative director of a photo shoot with their parent as the star in this interactive art workshop experience.

Experience the truly Unbelievable when you witness mind-bending illusions and jaw-dropping acrobatics from world-class entertainers in The Unbelievables, suitable for ages 8+. Award-winning UK theatre comes to Arts Centre Melbourne with the Australian premiere of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, perfect school holiday entertainment for older kids aged 11+.

With the Australian Music Vault turning up the volume on Australian music, we have a suite of hands-on workshops for young people in The Channel – from lyric writing to poster making, plus the AMV Academy to inspire young music-makers. Plus our music, magic and comedy workshops return for another summer – hurry, as places are limited.

Finally, Play Me, I’m Yours will return to bring music back to the streets. In this free participatory project taking place all summer long, pianos will pop up in the most unexpected places around Melbourne inviting you to play them.

We hope you enjoy our carefully curated program of remarkable experiences for families to enjoy together these school holidays.
