Join us for an interactive session of singing and music-making for the primary classroom

Why sing? Apart from being great fun, it connects us to others, and the voice is the most accessible and fundamental of all instruments!


  • Explore different songs and repertoire for classroom teaching -Learn a variety of warm up and song teaching techniques -Look at strategies to create a simple percussion arrangement -Scaffold the activities above from simple to more complex
  • You are invited to join us 15 mins prior to the advertised start time for registrations and afternoon tea.
  • The workshop will run for two hours from the advertised start time.


These events are designed for both generalist classroom teachers and music specialists.

While our resources and PD are primarily aimed at Primary school teachers, all are welcome, including:

  • Secondary Teachers
  • LOTE and SSP teachers
  • Home-schooling parents
  • Pre-service university education students


Jemma Tabet

As Professional Development Manager for Musica Viva, Jemma runs workshops nationally for teachers in classroom music. With a Bachelor of Music and Graduate Diploma of Primary Education, Jemma has worked as a generalist classroom teacher, specialist music teacher and private music tutor for more than a decade, also working extensively with primary school choirs and instrumental ensembles. Having traveled extensively, Jemma has a keen love of world music and dance and is a passionate advocate of the creative arts to support and enrich learning.
