The only way to discover the game... is to play it!

A bossy Queen, a stupid knight and a pawn with a touch of cunning. The world of fairytales and board games collide in this absurd spectacle for all ages.

With the pomp and ceremony of the Royal Court, three characters from an oversized chess board come to life to conduct an interactive board game, where the audience become the players. But beware the Queen, for it is with her that all power resides.

In this hilarious game no one knows what the rules are, and not everyone’s a winner. The Queen controls the board using only symbols and gestures, and players must interpret her signs without saying a word. Combining physical theatre, dance, clowning, and audience participation, this performance originally premiered at Arts Centre Melbourne in 2010.
