Due to staff shortages, the Hamer Hall foyer bars are closed for Classic Kids: Carnival of the Animals on 21 May. We encourage you to book at The Barre for a meal (open from 11am), or head to Protagonist for an alfresco drink and snack before or after your show. Both venues are located at the Theatres Building, a short walk from Hamer Hall.

The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra presents Carnival of the Animals, a work to delight and capture the imaginations of both young and old.

The humorous depiction of animals in Saint-Saëns’ zoological fantasy are brought to life through music and puppetry live on the Hamer Hall stage; this concert will be quite the menagerie!

This MSO performance includes some unexpected visitors – the addition of extra wildlife, commissioned especially for the event.
