Co-presented by ‘The Push’ and Arts Centre Melbourne, New Slang is a monthly, live music series showcasing both touring and local artists to Melbourne’s all-ages audience.
The New Slang events team are 10 dedicated, enthusiastic tastemakers aged 15-17 years.
Working with and learning from industry professionals, the team lead the organisation and programming of New Slang. Events team members gain hands-on experience, training and networking opportunities in the contemporary music industry, across a range of areas including:
Past New Slang events have featured performances by Slowly Slowly, Françoistunes, Didirri, Press Club, Tiny Little Houses, Alex Lahey, Baro, Tyne James Organ and The Vanns.
The New Slang events team are teens aged 15-17, but anyone can attend a New Slang gig.

The Channel is Arts Centre Melbourne's learning and participation venue. This exciting, spacious venue boasts high tech learning labs, a world class recording studio and vocal booth, and a flexible multi-use space.
