We’re turning up the volume on our love affair with Australian music – join us as we throw open the doors to the Australian Music Vault.

The Australian Music Vault is being developed by Arts Centre Melbourne in consultation with the music industry as a celebration of Australian contemporary music – past, present and future.

Inside the vault you’ll be able to explore your love of music, revisit some of the big music moments of your life and share these memories, and discover the exciting new stories of Australia’s contemporary music scene.

Opening in late 2017, the Australian Music Vault will feature an exhibition showcasing Australian music. There will also be innovative digital participatory experiences and iconic objects from our Performing Arts Collection.

Complementing the physical aspect of the Vault will be the digital via an online presence representing an integrated extension of your experience – an online space you can go to after your visit and continue your exploration of, and connection with, the Vault.

There’ll also be an ongoing calendar of performances, programs and events presented both at Arts Centre Melbourne and with communities across Victoria via an outreach program.

The inaugural Australian Music Vault Patrons are legendary promoter Michael Gudinski; music guru, Ian ‘Molly’ Meldrum; Archie Roach and Melbourne’s favourite diva, Kylie Minogue.

The Australian Music Vault is an Arts Centre Melbourne and Creative Victoria initiative in partnership with the music industry.

The Australian Music Vault is opening soon and everyone’s welcome. Stay tuned for more.
