Verdi’s dramatic Messa da Requiem uniquely combines high drama, theatricality and intense spirituality to create one of the most powerful musical experiences of the classical repertoire.
Four brilliant soloists will headline this performance: Outstanding Armenian soprano Natalie Aroyan will be joined by exciting young Australian mezzo soprano Anna Dowsley, Italian tenor Virgilio Marino, and the brilliant young Australian bass David Parkin.
The thrilling sound of a massed choir of over 250 voices will be complimented by the full might of the Royal Melbourne Philharmonic Orchestra, all under the baton of dynamic RMP Chief Conductor Andrew Wailes.
This concert will create unforgettable sonic splendour, and will surely be a must-see concert of 2017! It will also commemorate the late Australian conductor and RMP Patron Fra Prof Richard Divall AO, OBE, to whom this performance will be dedicated.
