Fun Run is a joyful community spectacle that pushes one man to the limits of his endurance.
Our fearless hero is Melbourne artist Tristan Meecham, who in homage to the Greek messenger Pheidippides, runs a gruelling 42 km on a treadmill live on stage, supported by a sizzling soundtrack, hundreds of performers and participants drawn from a multitude of Melbourne communities, dancers from Indigenous Hip Hop Projects and special guests.
Join the fun and cheer on our running man. Will he hit the wall or complete his quest?
This remarkable free event for the whole family has it all … shiny lycra, gleaming muscles, bouncing pom poms and a massive Fun Run Flash Mob that everyone can participate in.
Fun Run turns ordinary moves into the extraordinary - with non-stop heart pumping action for the entire performance. You can arrive at the start, middle or end or even better, stay, play and dance your way through the whole event!
Who is Pheidippides?
When the Greek messenger Pheidippides was sent to Athens to announce the defeat of the Persian army in the battle of Marathon, he ran the entire distance without stopping, burst into the Athenian assembly, delivered the news and died on the spot. Fun Run is his story. It can now be yours!
Everyone can join in the Fun Run Flash Mobs which will take place every hour on the hour during the performance.
Join one of our free public rehearsals this summer, or practice at home, work or school with our online video!
