Chart-topping Italian composer and pianist Ludovico Einaudi returns to Australia with the release of his highly-anticipated album 'ELEMENTS', which will be visually brought to life for audiences through the use of striking multimedia and lighting techniques.
Einaudi’s hauntingly-beautiful and evocative music defies categorisation; it’s a thrilling blend of electronic and acoustic; of alt-classical, ambient and pop. He draws from his rock 'n' roll upbringing as well as from classical minimalist masters like Philip Glass, Steve Reich and Erik Satie. Having produced 17 albums and composed scores for a plethora of major films including Clint Eastwood’s J. Edgar, box-office record breaker The Intouchables and Oscar-winning film Black Swan, his sound is pervasive.
Two and a half years after the worldwide success of In a Time Lapse, Einaudi presents an album of even greater distinction; Elements has been labelled "an exceptionally beautiful, moving work". It became the first classical release in 23 years to reach the top 15 of the UK charts in 2015 and the album has now peaked at #1 on the sales charts in 42 countries. Composed of 12 parts, the album includes piano, strings, percussion, guitar and electronic instruments. Similar to the composer’s previous works, this is a suite, in which each part has a precise relation to the others. The sound is lush and deep, and the elements are interwoven with a freshness that naturally harmonise acoustic, electric and electronic sounds.
Whether releasing chart-topping albums, selling out the largest concert halls, composing award-winning film scores or topping audience polls, Ludovico Einaudi is arguably one of the most influential and popular composers in the world today.
