Actor, producer and writer Ken Jeong, known for his scene stealing abilities, is on his way to Australia for the very first time. Jeong has successfully established himself as one of today’s top comedic stars and is well-known for his role as the Asian mobster “Mr. Chow” in the hit-comedy The Hangover trilogy. The film was the highest-grossing R-rated comedy to date and earned Jeong three Teen Choice Nominations and an MTV Movie Award. He has also appeared in Pineapple Express, Step Brothers and Knocked Up, amongst many others.
Jeong was discovered by Hollywood after he won the Big Easy Laff Off stand-up comedy competition in the US. The competition, which was judged by former NBC President Brandon Tartikoff and Improv founder Bud Friedman, turned out to be his big break as Tartikoff and Friedman urged Jeong to head to Los Angeles. Jeong now performs regularly at the Improv and Laugh Factory. He has since had his own show Dr. Ken on the 7 network, and was a regular on the critically acclaimed NBC show Community.
In 2015, Jeong directed an ESPN 30 for 30 documentary Student Athlete and he also produced the Sundance award winning film Advantageous, which received a Film Independent Spirit Award nomination. Did we mention he also has a medical degree?
